Using Safemo products requires a stable network connection. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that your smartphone, Safemo hub, and Safemo camera are all connected to the same network.

On iOS: Navigate to the Settings app and tap on Wi-Fi to view your network name.

On Android: Navigate to the Settings app and tap on Wireless & networks or Connections to view your network name. Please note that these options might vary depending on your device.

Is Safemo Hub wired or wireless?

Safemo Hub requires a wired connection via an Ethernet cable. Use an Ethernet cable to connect to your Internet router during setup. A wired connection ensures you have the most stable and reliable connection between your Safemo Hub, safemo cameras, and router. Safemo Hub works as the WiFi access point for your Safemo cameras, so you don't have to futz with your router settings if you have a 5 GHz home network.

How to Factory Reset my Smart Hub?

1. Open the hub's bottom cover with a screwdriver and remove the cover from the smart hub.

2. Press and hold the black reset button for 10 seconds until the LED light flashes blue, then put the back cover back on the smart hub.

Note: After you press the reset button on the hub, it will enter a cold start phase, which takes about 3 minutes to complete. During this cold start period, indicated by the red light, it's important not to interact with or attempt any further operations on the hub. Please wait patiently until this initialization process finishes. You'll know it's ready for use when the indicator light turns blue, signaling that the hub is fully operational and can accept new commands or setups.

Here's what'll happen after factory reset:

  • Remove User List

The factory reset will remove all user accounts associated with the smart hub from the user list. This includes both admin and shared user accounts, effectively revoking their access and removing all their settings.

  • Remove Cameras List

The factory reset will also remove the list of all cameras that are bound to the smart hub. This action deletes any association of these cameras with the smart hub.

  • Remove Personalized Settings

A factory reset will revert all personalized settings to their default states. This includes erasing custom smart hub names, deleting location settings for the smart hub, and resetting the language settings to the default language.

  • Erase Network Information

All stored network settings and network configurations will be completely erased from the smart hub.

  • Delete All Stored Content

Any videos, pictures, and other data previously stored on the smart hub will be permanently erased.

  • Prepare for Setup

After the reset, the smart hub will enter a state ready for initial setup, similar to a new device, necessitating a fresh network configuration.

Note: If you want to save any video footage before you perform the factory reset, backup video clips and download the files to your phone.

When Should I Reset the Smart Hub?

Offline Smart Hub Removal

If your smart hub goes offline and you intend to remove it from your system, a manual factory reset is required.

  • App Prompt

If your Safemo app indicates that a factory reset is needed, it typically means that the system has detected issues that can be resolved through a reset.

On Technical Team's Advice

If the technical support team advises a factory reset after evaluating your specific situation, it's important to follow their guidance.

After Other Troubleshooting Attempts

We recommend contacting the technical support team before attempting a reset. While a factory reset can resolve lingering issues that simpler steps do not address, it comes with a higher operational cost. Therefore, it’s advisable to seek guidance from the technical team to explore all other troubleshooting options first.

Kindly take note: a factory reset is a significant action and should be performed only when necessary.
